i have a question for AfterLife, u say that there is no magnetic field between the 2 materials, if u meant that, why when he pulled the upper material the lower one didnt fall? and how can they maintain the distance between them?
My guess is that the liquid nitrogen at this temp. became magnetized much more better than air to maintain the distance between the magnet and the metal cylinder and to resist the force of pulling the cylinder and left the magnet itself....((am not an expert btw)) :-)
